I started my move out to Mammoth from Madison, WI. Stopping first in Minnesota, Nebraska, Colorado Springs, and Silverthorne to visit some family along the way, I finally met up with Colin in Breckenridge, CO to pick up our tuning equipment. A big thank you goes out to Scott Koeberlein (Black Tie Breckenridge owner) for helping us out with moving and storing our new tuning equipment. This turned out to be an all day affair. Its not easy moving a 2000 lb. machine.

The next day we headed up to Steamboat to put the decals on our van. A big thanks to Black Tie owners Joe Sternberg and Ian Prichard for all the help. The van looks great!

With our two Black Tie vehicles we took off from Steamboat and headed out to Mammoth Lakes, CA.

We first passed through Utah. Driving through the Salt Flats was unbelievable. Quite a remarkable sight.

Next we had to pass through Nevada. Never have I driven through so much desolation. Up mountains and down through valleys for 5 hours and there is nobody for miles around as we drove off into the sunset.

That night we arrived in Mammoth Lakes, CA. Our new home. We camped out for the night and the next day went exploring. We can’t wait until there is snow on the mountain.

There is so much to do in the Eastern Sierras. Only a ten minutes drive from Mammoth Lakes is Convict Lake. It only takes a couple hours to hike around the entire lake and there is some beautiful scenery.

We’ve been working hard to get everything in place to be ready to deliver skis once the snow starts falling. We’ve found a warehouse space, hired a CPA, finalized our equipment order, registered our vehicles, found a place to live, and even made a trip out to see Governor Arnold in Sacramento to file our Articles of Incorporation. Hey Arnold, why can’t you file your Articles of Incorporation online in California? That would have been much easier. There is a lot to do to get a business off the ground.
